Recent Outfit Journals

Here’s a roundup of the outfits I’ve been rocking over the past couple of months—plus the reasons they’ve become my favorites. As I scroll back through these snaps, one thing jumps out immediately: pants are the unsung hero of my recent wardrobe. Whether it’s classic denim, flowy drapey trousers that move with me, or structured styles that add polish, bottoms have been my go-to styling anchor lately.

Wearing a minimal autumn outfit with a MUJI coat

Layered up in my Vince sweater, Facade Pattern trousers, and a trusty old MUJI Labo coat, finished with Mollini cheetah-print flats and my Saben Tilly’s Big Sis bag.
This was my go-to low-key late winter look for a workday that doubled as a sneak peek of Saben’s new S/S collection (naturally, I had to wear one of my all-time favorite pieces from the brand!). My current styling hack? Keep the outfit simple and let a fun accessory do the heavy lifting—whether it’s a bold pop of color or, in this case, playful animal print texture that adds just the right amount of personality.

Minimal chic autumn outfit idea with barrel pants from UNIQLO

Layered in a UNIQLO : C turtleneck, Vince sweater, and UNIQLO barrel pants, finished with well-loved Reike Nen boots (mine are old, but linked similar styles!), a Facade Pattern coat, and my Saben June bag.
I’ve tracked my wardrobe wear counts for over a decade now, but nothing’s been more eye-opening than auditing the pieces I hadn’t touched in the past 12 months. To my surprise, this Facade Pattern coat was buried at the back of my closet, collecting dust—so I made it a mission to center it in an outfit. And let me tell you: years later, it’s still one of the smartest coat investments I’ve ever made. The quality is impeccable.
Another styling trick I’m obsessed with lately? Layering a turtleneck under a crewneck or V-neck sweater. It instantly elevates any look by adding rich visual depth—total game-changer for easy, polished outfits.
Simple fit with Oroton bag
Layered up in an Aerie tee, Balzac Paris V-neck knit, MOTHER jeans, a well-worn MKDT Studio chore jacket, vintage Chaussures Lapin boots (mine are old!), and an Oroton bag—this was my go-to for a mild late winter day.
I built the look around a head-to-toe neutral base, stacked navy essentials for depth, and let the Oroton bag add a warm pop of contrast. These MOTHER jeans have been an absolute workhorse in my wardrobe this year—I’m this close to ordering a second pair in a different color… though I know better: when you own multiples of a piece, you always circle back to the one you love most.
And then there are the boots. I’ve been on the fence about them forever: on paper, they’re everything I adore, but that rounded cap toe paired with the creamy hue feels a little too 60s for my personal style. That said? The leather is ultra-soft, and they’re one of the few shoes in my closet that deliver unbeatable comfort—so they stick around, even with my minor reservations.
Wearing all black base with oversized denim shirt
Layered in a UNIQLO : C turtleneck, Marle trousers, UNIQLO denim shirt, well-loved St Agni boots, and a Songmont gather bag —I leaned into the same head-to-toe neutral base concept as my last outfit.
What I adore about this styling approach is how it works like a blank canvas: you can instantly refresh the look with just a few finishing touches. I’ve worn this core combo in subtle variations time and time again, and I’m even more excited to reach for it now that I’ve had the Marle trousers tailored to the perfect length .
Valentina henne jeans review
Layered in a UNIQLO tee, Henne jeans, well-loved St Agni boots , a Camilla & Marc short trench, and my Songmont gather bag .
This short trench has been on nonstop rotation since I splurged on it at the start of winter. I’d obsessed over it for months: tried it on, hemmed and hawed for another 30 days, then finally pulled the trigger—and it’s proven to be one of my smartest wardrobe buys yet. This is the wishlist-and-wait method in action: it doesn’t always pay off, but it’s saved me from countless regretful purchases over the years.
Minimal outfit with wide leg jeans and oversized leather jacket
Layered in a UNIQLO : C Heattech crewneck, H&M jeans, Andersons belt, well-loved Reike Nen boots , and a Maison de Sabré bucket tote—simple, sleek, and centered around one of my favorite denim finds of the year.
These H&M jeans are such a standout affordable pick (total win for budget-friendly style!). I let the tote do the heavy lifting here, with its rich pomegranate hue adding maximum pop to the neutral base—it instantly elevates the whole look. Funny enough, if memory serves, I wore this on a particularly rainy day—talk about perfect timing for a bright, mood-boosting accessory!
ANNA QUAN Mai Dress styled with black pumps and the Cafune mini stance bag
Layered up in an ANNA QUAN dress, Aeyde heels, and a Cafuné mini stance bag.
This ANNA QUAN style is such a stunner, thanks to its waist-cinching detail (it’s so flattering, even if it’s not fully visible here!). I paired it with a taupe crossbody that instantly draws the eye, and lately I’ve been obsessed with playing with scale in my outfits—it’s a genius way to add balance and visual interest to any look.
